Event DescriptionTake a closer look at Picturing the South: 25 Years, a major exhibition featuring the works of sixteen artists commissioned through the Picturing the South initiative. Led by a High Museum Docent, we'll explore current perspectives on Southern subjects and themes, brought to life through contemporary photography.The exhibition includes the first photographs in Sally Mann's Motherland series; Dawoud Bey's over-life-size portraits of Atlanta high school students; Richard Misrach's Cancer Alley industrial landscapes; and new commissions by An-My Le, Sheila Pree Bright, and Jim Goldberg.To allow for social distancing, space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
